Making A Winner Out Of A Binner

Here’s a wee tip you might find useful! 💡

If you’ve ever bought a face wash & then find after a few uses you don’t overly like it, instead of just binning it why not use it to clean your brushes!!

The pink do dah on the right is from Pennys/ Primark (£1.50)
It’s to exfoliate your face, but instead I’m using it as my new brush cleaning Tool.

Turkey & Chick Pea Casserole

Hello there,

I’ve been playing about with the ingredients in the cupboards this week & I’ve found a winning & tasty combo.

image

Here’s what you’ll need ……

◾  2 turkey steaks, diced into small pieces & any fat removed.

◾ 1 tin of peeled plum tomatoes.

◾ 1 tin of Mexican bean mix.

◾ 1 small tin of marrowfat peas.

◾ 1 small tin of chick peas.

◾  Chilli powder, garlic flakes, mixed herbs, salt & pepper to flavour.

image

I also added a chicken stock cube & also a little squeeze of tomato puree to help thicken the sauce up.

image

Put everything into your dish & cook for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.

image

20 minutes in give it a stir & remove the lid for last 10 minutes.

image

Serve it up with whatever takes your fancy, tonight we opted for brown rice.

Sit back and enjoy! 👌

Polka Dot Nails

Hello there,

One of my favourite apps is Pinterest, it’s great for saving ideas you’d like to try out in the future, and one of the ideas I wanted to try was polka dot nails.

image

I typed “Nail Art Tools” into eBay and up popped these 5 pens for 99p.

image

They arrived 2 days later, so all I needed was a willing set of hands. Luckily my pal Susan offered up hers.

image

They’re soOoO easy to use.
Firstly I put a base coat on, then pink varnish all over. After they dried, I opened the varnish I was going to use for the dots then just dabbed the point of the pen onto the dipped brush, making sure it was well coated before putting the brush back into the bottle.

image

It’s so much fun to do and because the pens are double ended with different sized points you can pick and choose the size of each dot. I layered up 4 colours then when they dried I finished with a top coat on.

You could also use cocktail sticks if you can’t be bothered with waiting on eBay.

Happy polka dotting guys and gals!

It’s Christmas Cookie Time!

Hello there,

With the 1st of December having been and gone and with a sea of advent calenders now minus one window. There’s no denying it any longer, It’s Christmas folks!
And sure what screams Christmas more than home baked biscuits. Plus your kitchen will smell absolutely delicious afterward. Trust me!

image

Here’s a list of everything you’re going to need to get baking those festive bickies.

image

INGREDIENTS
~  250g of softened butter.
~  140g caster sugar.
~  1 egg yolk.
~  2 tsp vanilla extract.
~  300g plain flour.
~  50g porridge oats.
~  1 tsp ground nutmeg.
~  1 tsp ground cinnamon.

image

▪ First up we’re  going to mix both the butter & sugar together with a wooden spoon, you could also kneed it with your fingers, just whatever you find easier.

▪ Next add in your egg yolk and vanilla extract and mix mix mix until your wee arms can mix no more.

▪ When that’s done add in your flour, porridge oats, nutmeg and cinnamon and yep, you guessed it get mixing again until it’s all combined.

▪ Throw your wooden spoon into the sink, push up your sleeves and get your hands into the mixture and start kneeding.

image

image

▪  Sprinkle your worktop with some flour, roll out your mix and start cutting your biscuits, then onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper they go.

▪ Have your oven preheated to 180 degrees whilst baking then once they go in drop it to down to160 degrees for 12-15minutes.

When they’re baked through let them cool on a wire rack for 20 minutes. I sprinkled mine with some edible glitter for the added fairy effects.

Do let me know if you try these out and remember you can add whatever flavourings you like.
I love vanilla, nutmeg & cinnamon so that’s why I included these in recipe. But feel free to play around.

The Body Shop

Greetings All,

Today I wanted to show you a wee Body Shop haul I picked up on Saturday. I also have to add that my phone contract is with o2, I downloaded their priority app and I’m so glad I did. Offers galore!!
Which brings me back to when I was in Belfast on Saturday and went into The Body Shop to take advantage of their 30% discount within the priority app.

image

I am and will always be a fan of their White Musk perfume (£17). I adore it and go through it rightly so that was the 1st thing I picked up. Next, I spied the Coconut Oil (£7) for my hair, it smells lovely so I’m looking forward to trying it, I’ll have a wee review up on that soon, so keep your eyes peeled.  Lastly I got the Vitamin E Essentials Kit (£11) for a present which has a mini toner, cleanser, moisturiser and a night cream all in a dainty little bag making it perfect for travel.
I was checking the Priority app again today and see The Body Shop is back on it, except now with a whopping 40% discount!! Making now the perfect time to buy any Christmas presents and take advantage of nearly half price.

Thanks for stopping by! ♡
