Making A Winner Out Of A Binner

Here’s a wee tip you might find useful! 💡

If you’ve ever bought a face wash & then find after a few uses you don’t overly like it, instead of just binning it why not use it to clean your brushes!!

The pink do dah on the right is from Pennys/ Primark (£1.50)
It’s to exfoliate your face, but instead I’m using it as my new brush cleaning Tool.

Bloomin Nora, HOW MUCH Pandora?!

HellO there,

I love silver jewellery, I have a silly amount of rings, but not enough fingers to wear them all, so the obvious choice is stacking rings, they’re thin & maximise your digit real estate.

I got to looking about for some & 1st port of call was Pandora.  They’re gorgeous,  but the price?  Not so gorgeous!  So I had a look on Ebay & found some identical ones also sterling silver for a fraction of the price.

image

image

The top left with the stone is £40 in Pandora, mine was £17.50.  The bottom one was £11.20 but again in Pandora it was £28.

There you go folks, the exact same look that would’ve cost maybe £80 I got for £33.  Shop about & see what’s out there, there’s always a bargain to be found.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Daytrip To Dublin On A Budget

HellO there!

On Wednesday I took the Enterprise from Belfast to Dublin to meet up with my boyfriend who lives in Southern Ireland so we could spend the day together.  I’ll state the obvious here by saying that Dublin is expensive & the fact we were spending 8 hours there could get costly.  I prebooked my train ticket online for £17.50 return from Bangor to Dublin. (book 72hrs pre day of travel to take advantage of their webfare.)

image

Next up was getting us some cheap food & drinks, I went on Groupon & got us a voucher for 2 burgers & 2 sides costing €20 in a restaurant called BoBos.  There was no escaping the OTT cow theme, it kind of felt like the murals were watching us eat there relatives.

image

Then the bar/club 4 Dame Lane had an offer, €10 for 3 cocktail, so I bought us 2 of these.  I recommend their Long Island Ice Tea, June Bug & Lynchburg Lemonade.  All very tasty.

image

We spent the day wandering about the city checking out museums & popping into shops.

image

Temple Bar is super expensivd but a lovely wee spot to dander about nonetheless.  I love it’s cobble stone streets & quirky colourful shops. The bottom left photo made me laugh, selling written on stones for €1!!

image

Ross loves science so I brought him to the Science Gallery on Pearse Street,  but it was grim.  Nothing sciencey about it.  We stayed all of 5 minutes, it was more like an Urban Outfitters with a huge gift shop & a giant café with very very little space actually dedicated to science displays.  Avoid!!!!

image

Next we cut through Trinity College & went into the National Library on Kildare Street.  There was a display on Irelands input in WW1.

image

There was an exhibition on William Butler Yeats, with hand written poems, letters & the books he owned.

image

Next door was the The Archeology & History Museum. Again if you get the chance check it out.  It features gold artefacts from western Europe, metalwork from the Celtic Iron Age & objects from Medieval & prehistoric Ireland, not to mention the Egyptian section.
The day flew in & sure enough it was soon time for me to get the train back home.  It was a good wee day & cost next to nothing seeing as we’d already our vouchers paid for in advance.  Most of these Groupon deals are valid for a few months so maybe a good idea to purchase them when you’ve a bit of extra cash then keep them till the end of the month when you want to do something but can’t afford it, so you’ve still something to look forward to.  Win win!

Are you a Groupon fan? What have you bought?

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my rambles.  I Hope you all have a safe & fun weekend & I’ll see you back here on Monday.

Beauty Fashion Friday

HellO there all you cool cats,

Well another month has flown by so that means it’s time for another Beauty Fashion Friday!! *eEp* Excited!!! ☺

The lovely Céara is our guest today.
Remember if you want to be featured next month check out the super simple instructions at the end.
But right now, it’s over to Miss Céara with some top tips . . .

* Who inspires your style?
Honestly, no stars or celebs!  I think the best styled people are walking down the street or going about their day.  Celebs & stars are treated like a hanger, they don’t OWN the stuff they’re wearing.  People who walk into a shop & make their own outfit?! I copy them!

* What’s your favourite piece of clothing/ accessories?
(or both)
String tops I wear them everyday! They’re so handy & easy to accessorise with, my other would be my beautiful black platform shoes, they make you skinny from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. High heels makes every girl feel better right?

* Where do you like to shop?
PRIMARK!  I should take out shares in the place.  So affordable & some really cool stuff.  When I’m feeling a little richer I hit River Island & temporarily bankrupt myself for the rest of the month always opting for a matching bag & purse, then have nothing to put in the purse!

*If money wasn’t an option & you could buy any beauty item tomorrow what would it be & why?
Make up! & more make up! obviously some surgery too, that’s classed as beauty item isnt it?

* Do you have a certain style & how would you describe it?
I really don’t have a certain style.  I just know with my body shape what’s best for me to wear (I’m a curvy girl) I play it pretty safe with skinnys, string top & cardi or shirt. You’ll also see me with trackies, they’re so comfy.

* What’s your daily beauty & makeup routine?
I cleanse, tone & moisturise every night & exfoliate twice a week.  I’m loving the brand Eucerin atm, I’ve terrible break outs & I’ve found it helps to nip it in the bud.
My exfoliator is No.7 Micro Dermabrasion, it makes my skin feels amazing! Make up routine, I’ve only two rules. 1. prime before & 2. have fun with it!

* What’s your favourite beauty product/ products?
My favourite beauty products atm are Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation.  It hides everything I hate but doesn’t make me feel caked or cause me break outs.  Also, eyeliner & mascara.  Make up isn’t complete without these two!

* Do you’ve any beauty tips or tricks?
Clean your make up brushes with baby shampoo, it works a treat.  It’s gentle on the bristles & pulls all the yucky make up out.  Got a liquid eyeliner, lip gloss or any liquidy make up product thats run out yet you’ve gone to River Island & bankrupted yourself so can’t afford another yet?  Well then boil a kettle, get the hot water in a cup & set your product in & wait 5 mins. At least another couple applications to get you through to payday!

* What’s been your worst fashion, beauty or hair disaster? (Or all)
When I thought popper tracksuit bottoms where amazing, and my matching tracksuit with my nike airs! When I got a weave put in badly & when it was removed. Worst. Day. Ever!

* Name a blog you read that you’d recommend to us?
Pixiwoo, the creators of the Real techniques brushes.  Two sisters, pro make up artists who recreate looks, giving tips & tricks etc. I love watching their vlogs!

Eyeshadow + Lipbalm = Lipgloss

Hey there,

Have you any eyeshadows that you’d love to have in the same colour lippy?  Well why don’t we just make some ourselves? It takes 2 minutes & there are as many colour options as we have eyeshadows.

image

image

We’ll need a clear lipbalm, a spoon & a lip brush to mix it altogether.

image

image

If you’ve made extra then with your brush just paint it on the inside of a vaseline lid or something similar.
We all have an eyeshadow pallette with some bright or loud colours that we wouldn’t necessarily wear on our eyes so why not get use out of them this way, a neutral eye & bold (homemade) lips!

Is this something you’d try out?

Thanks for calling by.

Rimmel Revelations

HellO everyone!

Today I’m on cloud 9!  And you’ll probably laugh at me when you realise why, or pity me that what I’m about to tell you would make me so happy.

Let us begin . . .
Last week I was over on http://confettiandcurves.wordpress.com/ which is one of my most favourite blogs & seen that Karen had reviewed Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation.

I’m beyond sceptical when it comes to drugstore type foundations, having tried X amount of them over the years.  After an hour or two the makeup would disappear from my Tzone, nostrils & chin leaving a greasy type residue.
I’d end up having to reapply 2 or sometimes 3 times through the day.
Naturally this sent my stress levels souring, if I noticed it then surely others did too.
NOT what you want in a foundation, in fact the complete opposite of what it’s meant to do.  It made me feel ick!  I couldn’t wait to get home & wash my face.  So ever since this drama I’ve avoided buying foundation in the chemist & stuck with high end ones.

image

I’ve read alot of good reviews on the Rimmel 25hr but was dubious incase the same thing happened, then after reading Karens review I bit the bullet & finally picked it up & for the bargain price of £4.98.  It comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser which I love.

image

Honestly I can’t say enough good things about it.  It claims to be a lasting finish, full coverage & skin perfecting.  It lasted the entire day & some, I put it on at 12pm & took it off at 1am.
As for full coverage, I didn’t retouch it once.  As you can see from my before photo I’m a bit of a freckle monster, I used 1 pump of it, which was even too much, it covered everything I wanted covered.  Finally it gets the thumbs up in the skin perfecting stakes too, I think my skin looked alot brighter afterward.
1 pump of foundation equaled a full day of wear tooing & froing about shops & town in the elements.

I’m a convert.  For me it’s most definately a dupe for the higher end ones that are out there.
Would I buy it again? Yes!
It’s a no brainer, with the usual retail price of £7.99 I’m saving ten pounds compared to what I pay for my current one but still getting the same coverage.

Have you used this foundation before? What did you think?

Thanks a million for reading.
