I Am Very Busy

Well hellO there,

I needed a new diary & when I seen this last month in Paperchase while I was in Manchester I knew it was love at first sight. It cost £20 & if you follow me on Instagram you’ll have seen my post about it there.

image

AnyhOo, last week Blogland & stationary addicts alike went mad for it after my post got noticed by a few followers who passed it on to a few more & so on & before I knew it this cute lil book had gone global (ish) & was being bought en mass.

So what’s so good about it?

image

The question should be what isn’t so good about it & the answer would be Nothing!!
Firstly it’s a 17 month diary, which means I’m sorted till January 2017.  More importantly there’s alot of room for writing, which is kind of the point with a diary.

image

Next up are the stickers which I’ll undoubtedly deem ‘too good’ to ever actually use.  But just look at them there in all their cute stickery glory.  Then there’s the secret code bit which will reduce you to being a kid no matter what your age.

image

The illustrations are fab too.  There’s one at the end of each month.  All the artists are credited in the back page if you’d like to check out their other work.  The ribbon book mark is a bonus, helping you find the correct date/ page immediately without having to waste time flicking through.

image

I love the random sayings scattered throughout, wee mantras to put smiles on our faces.  There’s also a pocket on the back page for anything you might need a pocket for.

If you want to join in on the Ban_Do diary craze then head to http://www.asos.com Or check out Hippinings on Facebook, who’s taking preorders.

Thanks as always for stopping by. ♡

Savoury Swirls

Hey there,

Here’s a super quick & easy recipe for my savoury swirls.  I made it last week & it fed five.
image

My main ingredients were chorizo, chicken & applewood smoked cheese.  Then I used tomato purée with basil, oregano, salt & pepper as the base.

image

Unroll the pastry, mix the herbs in with the purée, (I’d use half the tube or less, mixed with some water so it’s not so rich.)  Spoon it out so all the pastry is covered.

image

I love chorizo so I used lots & layered it over the sauce.

image

Next I cut the chicken up & scattered it on top of the chorizo.

image

I love Applewood cheese, as of a month ago when I was introduced to it by my good pal Linda.  Sprinkle a decent amount of this grated goodness over the chicken to complete the mix.

image

Now comes the fun bit so get ready to get a little bit messy.  Roll the pastry back up, it doesn’t matter if some of the ingredients fall out because we can sprinkle them over the top.

image

Sharp knife at the ready & cut the roll into an inch or so wide slices.  Pop in the ovan at 190° for 25mins.  I think cooking it at a lower temp for a longer time is best to ensure the pastry is cooked through.

Et voila! “Marias Savoury Swirls” 🙂
They really are so tasty & filling.  Good to eat hot or cold.  Plus there’s so many different recipes you can try to suit all palettes.  From veggie to meat eaters, not forgetting the desert option.

If you try it out I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

National Milk Chocolate Day

Hey there,

I think I’ve found my new favourite holiday.  Today is National Milk Chocolate Day!  Yup, you heard me, we are fully EXPECTED to be stuffing our faces full of milky chocolate treats today.
In fact I’d go as far as to say you’d be doing your country a disservice by not eating your part of the chocolate.

image

I was food shopping earlier when I seen these Wispa hot chocolate drinks, I grabbed 4 to bring into work tomorrow to celebrate this great day with my 3 work pals.

What’ll you be having?
Chocolate cake? Rice krispie buns? Chocolate fruit fondu?

Remember guys & girls it’s expected of us to eat milk chocolate today so do your bit with a guilt free conscience!!

Comment below & let me know what went for!
