Metalic Eyes

Hello there,

Do you like metalic colours in your makeup? I do! In fact I *LoVe* them & my favourite right now is Gosh Forever Eye Shadow Stick.  £5.99

image

There’s a whole range of them, I’ve 3 at the moment, but gradually building up my collection every payday.

image

image

They’re very pigmented & have some serious lasting power.  I love how you can build them up & make different colours as they’re so blendable.  I also use them as a base for dry shadows to help make their colour pop more.

Have you tried these shadows? Let me know what you think!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Beauty Fashion Friday

HellO there all you cool cats,

Well another month has flown by so that means it’s time for another Beauty Fashion Friday!! *eEp* Excited!!! ☺

The lovely Céara is our guest today.
Remember if you want to be featured next month check out the super simple instructions at the end.
But right now, it’s over to Miss Céara with some top tips . . .

image

* Who inspires your style?
Honestly, no stars or celebs!  I think the best styled people are walking down the street or going about their day.  Celebs & stars are treated like a hanger, they don’t OWN the stuff they’re wearing.  People who walk into a shop & make their own outfit?! I copy them!

* What’s your favourite piece of clothing/ accessories?
(or both)
String tops I wear them everyday! They’re so handy & easy to accessorise with, my other would be my beautiful black platform shoes, they make you skinny from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. High heels makes every girl feel better right?

* Where do you like to shop?
PRIMARK!  I should take out shares in the place.  So affordable & some really cool stuff.  When I’m feeling a little richer I hit River Island & temporarily bankrupt myself for the rest of the month always opting for a matching bag & purse, then have nothing to put in the purse!

*If money wasn’t an option & you could buy any beauty item tomorrow what would it be & why?
Make up! & more make up! obviously some surgery too, that’s classed as beauty item isnt it?

* Do you have a certain style & how would you describe it?
I really don’t have a certain style.  I just know with my body shape what’s best for me to wear (I’m a curvy girl) I play it pretty safe with skinnys, string top & cardi or shirt. You’ll also see me with trackies, they’re so comfy.

* What’s your daily beauty & makeup routine?
I cleanse, tone & moisturise every night & exfoliate twice a week.  I’m loving the brand Eucerin atm, I’ve terrible break outs & I’ve found it helps to nip it in the bud.
My exfoliator is No.7 Micro Dermabrasion, it makes my skin feels amazing! Make up routine, I’ve only two rules. 1. prime before & 2. have fun with it!

* What’s your favourite beauty product/ products?
My favourite beauty products atm are Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation.  It hides everything I hate but doesn’t make me feel caked or cause me break outs.  Also, eyeliner & mascara.  Make up isn’t complete without these two!

* Do you’ve any beauty tips or tricks?
Clean your make up brushes with baby shampoo, it works a treat.  It’s gentle on the bristles & pulls all the yucky make up out.  Got a liquid eyeliner, lip gloss or any liquidy make up product thats run out yet you’ve gone to River Island & bankrupted yourself so can’t afford another yet?  Well then boil a kettle, get the hot water in a cup & set your product in & wait 5 mins. At least another couple applications to get you through to payday!

* What’s been your worst fashion, beauty or hair disaster? (Or all)
When I thought popper tracksuit bottoms where amazing, and my matching tracksuit with my nike airs! When I got a weave put in badly & when it was removed. Worst. Day. Ever!

* Name a blog you read that you’d recommend to us?
Pixiwoo, the creators of the Real techniques brushes.  Two sisters, pro make up artists who recreate looks, giving tips & tricks etc. I love watching their vlogs!

Illamasqua

Hey there all,

Today I got to play with some items from Illamasqua.  (‘Illusion’ & ‘Masquerade’). It’s a relatively new British highend makeup brand that was set up back in 2008.

image

These are the 3 products I got to try out. 1) Hydra Veil Rehydrating Gel, Rich Liquid Foundation, 2) Skin Base Lift, 3) Skin Base Lift Brightening Concealer.

The rehydrating gel is a primer, retailing for £30 (30mls), it has a fresh scent & feels lovely on the skin, I really loved the wee pot it comes in & for an added bit of twee there’s a teeny tiny spoon on top to help you judge how much to use.

image

Next up was the foundation, also £30 (30mls), I used the tiniest amount which went along way.  I thought the packaging looked cheap, for the amount you’re paying I think they could have pimped the bottle up a bit.
Finally the concealer, which costs £17 (2.5g) to be honest I didn’t see anything special with it to warrant the price tag.

image

Would I buy this? No!
Innitially I loved it, it gave great coverage & I really liked the shade.  But after 4 hours this was my face, my skin felt greasy & shiny.  It had come off my chin & parts of my nose, then was clumpy in other parts as you can see.  A very disappointing outcome for the price.

Have you tried Illamasqua?  Have you had a better experience?

Thanks for reading.

Fancy French Tips

HellO there everyone,

We’re talking French manicures today.  I think they’re beautiful, they make a regular old hand look so elegant, especially when you add some nice rings & a bracelet.

image

Now I may love a French manicure but I’m not all that steady when it comes to painting those white tips on with a brush.  I always find there’s too much polish on the brush, leaving my nail clumpy & taking an age to dry.  Then if I make a mistake which I so often do I’ve to remove all the polish & start the whole thing again, time consuming much?!

image

image

Nailene White French Tip Pen is a handy way around this problem.  You simply draw along the end of your nail with its precision edge, it drys very quickly so you can paint the top coat of clear polish over it immediately.
From start to finish this took 10 minutes.
As a rule I’d always use polish as opposed doing a French manicure purely because it’s always seemed less time consuming, but honestly after trying this pen I think my fringers will be going French more often.  The pen & polish came together in a set & cost £5.25 from Boots.

Would you switch from brush to pen?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Rainbow Eyes

HellOo,

Apologies for missing my post on Friday you guys, naughty blogger.

AnyhoO I’m back today talking about big bright bold eyes.

image

Are you a fan?
I reeeeeeally want to be so I got this Beauty UK Posh Pallette In ‘Festival’ (£4.99) to see if it’s a fan of me.

Don’t worry I haven’t ran out & bought yet another mascara, my pal let me try out her Benefit They’re Real.  But I probably will go out & buy it at some stage because it’s a bit amazing.

image

There’s some really vibrant shades in the pallette, but if I could’ve I would’ve swapped the black for red, before you say, the top left if orange, it does look a bit red here.  There is some fall out so in future I’ll do my eyes before foundation so it’s really not a bit deal, plus you’re getting 10 colours for under a fiver.

I *LoVE* these colours.  There’s so many to mix & match.  I think they’re super fun, they’d definately brighten up any outfit, if you’re like me you don’t have a massive wardrobe to draw from these are most definately a way to add an extra element to an old favourite.

Would you do tropical eyes? Or what colours would you pair up?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Concealer

Hello there,

I’m talking about concealer today.  I’ve always used ‘Rimmel Hide The Blemish’ which is a twist up stick one, but when my last one was finished I fancied a change.

image

I picked this Maybelline Super Stay Better skin” liquid one up last week.  I got it in the 02/light shade, it was £5.99 for 11ml. I can’t emphasise enough just how little you’ll need of this.
Remember, you’re putting it on after foundation so squeeze out the tiniest amount, dab it on & I know you’ll think “Ah! This is a bit amazing!” Then wipe the rest off the back of your hand & scold yourself for not heeding my advice because you’ve just wasted about 5 applications on a face wipe thinking you’d need alot more.
It might look like a small tube but after I used it once or twice I quickly realised It’ll be a looOng time before it runs out & was so pleased with the coverage.

image

I usually put concealer on after foundation but for the purpose of showing you how well it works I used it alone in this photo.
As you can see on the left I’m rocking some serious under eye luggage.  It was actually a matching set until I put this on under my right eye.
It is what it is so the only claim on the back is “Instantly flawless natural looking coverage” but I found it really brightened up my skin too.

I’d definitely buy this again but I use so little of it per application it’ll be a while before I have to.

What’s your concealer of choice?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Prime Time

HellO Everyone!

I’m talking about a new product today, well, another newby to me at least.  Primer.  Are you a fan? I’ve dabbled with it in the past but after a few uses it always found its way to the bottom of the makeup bag & lay forgotten about.  Then this past week I see reviews & ads for Benefits Porefessional everywhere & was all for trying it until I seen it was £24.50!!  £24.50!!! No chance.
The foundation I’m putting on over the primer doesn’t cost £24.50.

With my self imposed austerity measures in place I searched for my primer fix elsewhere.  And it was good old Rimmel to the rescue, why hadn’t I gone with the tried & trusted favourite in the first place! The brand that’s had my back since I was 14 & rocking the Coffee Shimmer lippy.

image

Stay Matte Primer.  (£5.99 for 30ml)

What is primer?
It creates a velvet like base that helps your makeup last alot longer. It can be worn alone, under makeup or on top to create a matte complexion.  It also controls shine & minimises the appearance of pores.

Does it do all of this? . . . Yes!
I was honestly shocked at how well it held up to its claims.  I always bring my buffer brush with me to swish over my face after a few hours if my makeup is looking a bit worn.  Today I didn’t.

image

Experiment time!
Here I am after putting on the primer, foundation & the rest of my makeup.  I didn’t primp, preen, reach for my brush or even look in a mirror once the entire day. (Which near killed me)

image

And again at 21.00.  This is after a full day on the go, usually by now my makeup would be showing a bit of wear, especially around the T-zone & I’d be reaching for the buffer to even things out.  But today not once.

Are you a primer? Favourite brand? Do tell!

As always thank you all *SOoooOo* much for reading..
